The church Santo Antônio known as the 'Igreja do Galo', was built in 1766, it is the best example of Barroco' architectural style. Situated next to a Franciscan convent, it possesses a magnificent altar sculptured in cedar and shelters the museum of sacred art which contains an important collection.

Praça André de Albuquerque
The square was the first element of the foundation of Natal on December 25th, 1599. In 1888, the square took this name in homage to the leader and the martyr of the revolution of 1817, André de Albuquerque Maranhão. In this place can see 'Palácio Potengi', church ' Matriz', the 'Instituto Histórico e Geográfico' and the ' Memorial Câmara Cascudo'.

Of a very beautiful neo-classic architecture, inaugurated on March 29th, 1902, it keeps a memory of 25 thousand volumes, collection of magazines and maps on the colonial, imperial and republican history of the state and of Brazil, as for instance the manuscript of the first state constitution.
